Over the next week or so, I will be adding some new information to the curriculum pages. We have now completed a term’s assessment against the New National Curriculum to present a clear picture of where the children are in terms of age-related objectives.
To support parents’ understanding of the Year 5 expectations, I will be adding some of the Curriculum statements that the children are expected to achieve in maths, reading and writing by the end of this Year. In the meantime, if you have any concerns about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sharon Ord

Welcome back and I hope you had a lovely break.
This week we have talked about New Year resolutions in whole school worship and our class worship and you made a class New Year's resolution. Please think about this and how you are going to be able to keep it over the rest of the school year. This is important as it will improve your working environment and support your learning. Our school values this half term are: Humility and Service. Please remember what these mean; we looked up Humility in the dictionary and it said 'being humble and modest'. We discussed this as thinking of others; not being overly boastful about our own achievements but to also recognise strengths in others. We linked service to people who serve us and to serving God. Our curriculum overview is attached under 'curriculum' on this page. Reminder: please remember that our PE days this term are on Monday and Wednesday and are both with the Sports 4 All coaches where we will be learning the skills of football and badminton. Spelling groups will resume next week and we will also be learning the Year 5/6 spelling words during our lessons. Have a good weekend and see you Monday, Mrs Ord |
